In 1787, Delaware ratified the Constitution of the United States before any other colony, earning it the claim as the nation’s “first state.” One half of all U.S. publicly traded companies and 63% of all Fortune 500 companies are incorporated in DE. Business-friendly laws make it an attractive location in the eyes of corporate America. Favorable local laws have also attracted many nationally-known companies to the city.

The state is home to just under one million people, but due to its geographic size it is one of the most densely populated states in the country.

Marcos and Amarilis Mercado have a vision to see a new church begin in the heart of Wilmington, the largest city in Delaware. Wilmington is an ethnically diverse city. The population of the city is 56% African American and 31% White, but also has significant numbers of Hispanic and Asian residents.

The Mercados have over twenty years of ministry experience in the Northeastern United States, serving in New York City, Philadelphia, and Delaware. The Mercados have impacted thousands of people in both English and Spanish.
