Mustard Seed Christian Church

Launch

January 2010

Planters

Mike and Erin Ackerman

In January of 2010 a team of church planters launched Mustard Seed Christian Church in the upstairs of a small sports bar in Nagoya, Japan.

That first Sunday 37 people attended. The church has been steadily growing ever since. Over the past 3 years, Mustard Seed Christian Church has baptized new believers and raised up a small group of committed Christians who regularly attend and volunteer with the church.

Members help weekly with the worship service and have been involved in mid-week Bible studies as well as service projects with the city’s homeless and in trips to aid those affected by the 2011 Tohuku earthquake and tsunami.

In the fall of 2011 the church sent out a group to start a new church in Osaka, Japan. This group had been a part of the launch of MSCC in Nagoya and was able to use their knowledge and experience to pant another thriving church in Japan.
